A.G.A.P.E.
A is for Agape or Godly Love - Matthew 22:37-40 – Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with thy entire mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. We should exhibit our love through worship by expressing our praise, honor, and devotion to God.
G is for the Gathering of the Saints – And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together: as the manner as some is: but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25. At Agape Christian Fellowship Church, we believe in unity of the body of Christ. Those who have accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are a part of the body of Christ. It is our duty to work in harmony to save the lost, as there are many members we all make up one body.
A is for all scripture being inspired by the word of God- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. The word of God is our ultimate authority. We must be transformed by the word of God by leading a spirit filled lifestyle. We must be set apart, sanctified, and live a life of reverence and respect to God.
P is for the Power of Prayer- My House shall be called the house of prayer. Isaiah 56:7-At Agape Christian Fellowship Church we believe that prayer is essential for a successful ministry and spiritual growth. We must intercede before God on behalf of others requesting God’s intervention and the working out of his will. We must have an attitude of gratefulness and praise for God at all times, both in attitude and deed. God desires that we should praise Him in worship, in prayer, and in our daily lives by our actions and deeds. Our praise is an outward manifestation of our love, awe, and dependence on God
E is for Evangelism- Matthew 28: 18-20 - Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. We must dedicate our lives to missions by sharing the gospel, not only in our community, but in our state, country, and world. We must show compassion for those who are lost by meeting their needs physically and spiritually.
